Yang Hui, Naxi, graduated in 1982 from the Department of Politics
of Yunnan Nationalities College as Bachelor of Law. Graduated from
Department of Anthropology of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
as Master of Anthropology in 1991. Once worked in the Institute
of Ethnology of Yunnan Nationalities College and Department of Ethnology
of Central Nationalities University. Now associate professor in
Department of Anthropology of Yunnan University and Deputy Director
of East Asia Institute of Visual Anthropology. Visiting scholar
at University of California (Berkley) from 2001 to 2002.
Main publications include: Tourism, Anthropology and Chinese
Society( as editor-in-chief), Principles of Visual Anthropology
(as translator) and Anthropology and Ethnic Groups in Southwest
China (as deputy editor-in-chief) as well as some papers published
in Central Nationalities University Journal, Thinking, and Guangxi
Nationalities College Journal. Courses taught include: Introduction
to Cultural Anthropology, Theory and Methodology of Cultural Anthropology,
Theory of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnography, Visual Anthropology,
and Tourist Anthropology.
